What is The Cinder Crown?
A princess and the holy Warden sworn to protect her—but never meant to love her.
Yearning, restraint, charged proximity, almosts, and a relationship that has time to become dangerous.
High romantic tension without explicit sex.
An oath-bound paladin and the Crown Princess whose life, reputation, and throne he is charged to defend.
Thalion is dangerous, devoted, ancient, and carrying centuries of choices he cannot undo.
Chastaine begins the story with a crown, a duty, and a voice of her own. Romance does not give her power—it complicates how she must use it.
A throne legitimized by faith. A powerful church. Inquisitors, heresy, rebellion, and a princess forced to decide where divine authority ends and her own begins.
Immortality has a price, gods have agendas, and promises made centuries ago still demand payment.
The story
Chastaine was born to wear the Cinder Crown of Valduryn, the sacred relic that marks the kingdom's divinely accepted heir.
But a crown does not make its wearer safe.
On the night of her coronation, Chastaine is entrusted to Thalion—the last Paladin of the ancient Order of Wardens, holy protectors sworn to defend Valduryn's royal bloodline. Immortal, impossibly powerful, and bound by an oath older than anyone living can remember, Thalion has spent centuries serving the crown.
He has also spent centuries keeping secrets.
As violence closes around the throne and the faith Chastaine was raised to trust tightens its grip upon her kingdom, princess and Warden are drawn into a conflict of crown, church, magic, and divine authority.
And inevitably, toward one another.
But Thalion's devotion was never meant to become love.
Because beneath his immortality lies an ancient bargain—and the closer Chastaine comes to discovering what her Warden truly is, the more dangerous their forbidden attachment becomes.

ARC Reader Review“Good Morning, Your Grace.”
If you don't get anything else from this book, you're going to love when he says that.
Thalion and Chastaine absolutely made this book for me. The little looks, the restraint, the protection, the things they refuse to say, and the way Thalion's feelings come through in what he does rather than what he admits made the slow burn incredibly satisfying. Chastaine also isn't just there to be protected. She is intelligent, capable, politically aware, and has responsibilities that genuinely affect the choices she makes. Their relationship feels like two people gradually becoming indispensable to one another even when they both know how dangerous that could become. I need the next book immediately.
ARC Reader ReviewIt has this dark, almost devotional gothic quality running through the entire story—old palaces, incense, gods, and a constant sense that something ancient is moving beneath everything. The prose is beautiful without feeling like it is trying too hard to be poetic, and there are several lines I found myself stopping to reread. Even the quieter scenes between Chastaine and Thalion carry this incredible weight of actual people having real problems. If you like fantasy that feels romantic, melancholy, and immersive, this is the book for you.
ARC Reader ReviewIf you love slow-burn romantasy, bodyguard romance, forbidden devotion, and a protective MMC who would burn the world down quietly and then apologize for the mess, The Cinder Crown delivers. The romance is low spice, but the tension and yearning more than make up for it. Add in ancient magic, actual banter and an amazing fight scene, and this hit so many of my favorite fantasy romance tropes at once.
And this is only the beginning. The Cinder Crown is Book One of a planned trilogy. The crown, the Wardens, the gods, and the consequences of the promises made here continue beyond the final page.
